Last Chance for Harvest Hunters

Available every year from November 1st - 30th

November is when the Fall season REALLY hits in the United States. Pumpkin Spice everything is in stores, the leaves have fallen (or are starting to) and the temperatures around the underground lab finally drop below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This is harvest time in the Northern Hemisphere, and Thanksgiving in the United States, Canada, China, Germany, Grenada, Japan, and Norfolk Island. To help ALL our heroes celebrate, this month's seasonal set features the Harvest Hunters - the HeroHunter and Lycan Stalker armors.

Unlock the Hero Hunter or Lycan Stalker armors and all the Harvest Hunter accessories!

There are two ways to get the gear:

1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD 

2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon. (starting tonight at 6PM EST)

The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 4,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the Harvest Hunters pack is a pretty sweet deal (you save 2,000 ACs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as the monthly upgrade bonus? 

Monthly upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

This set will return EVERY November, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2019, or 2020, or 2021, etc.

If this isn't the monthly upgrade bonus, what IS the bonus in November?

The next upgrade bonus will be available from November 2nd - 30th, and are the Apocalyptic DragonLord armors. 

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through November 30th.

Where do I get my gear if I buy the full set through the website?

• All of this year's event rare items are available individually from the Black Friday Shop in your game menu until the event leaves December 9th.
• In order to prevent shop abuse, the Dark Holiday 2022 Collection Chest cannot be sold.

We’re very sorry, but we cannot offer exchanges or compensation or exchanges on IoDA choices when an item is recoloured and released for Black Friday or Cyber Monday anymore.  The IoDA program allows you to access rare items you would not otherwise have access to. Due to this, and the fact that recolours are not the same as the original items, we can no longer give any additions bonus or compensation for these items.

* There were several items listed in previous versions of this post that were incorrectly named, or mistakenly added to the list (like the Cyber Matrix of Revontheus). Those have been updated or removed.

Positively Grateful & Thankful!

Giving thanks for everybody and everything every day

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays – and it's not just because of the desserts! Thanksgiving reminds me to be thankful for all that I have and to take a moment for gratitude. Sometimes we forget how much we have and what matters most in our lives, so I like to remind myself how important this day really is and reflect on just how lucky I am.

Thankful for what we have today

It’s easy to compare ourselves to others and be envious, jealous, and/or resentful of what they have – because we are focusing on what *we* DO NOT have. But focusing on those things leads to a whole slew of negative emotions, detrimental thoughts, and perhaps damaging actions; instead, we should be thankful for all that we DO have and start focusing on all the positive things in our lives! 

Here’s my go-to list for perpetual positivity: 

🙏 be grateful for what you have
🥰 appreciate what (and who) you have
🌟 don't take things for granted
🏆 don't be too materialistic
😾don't be too hard on yourself
🤕 don’t dwell on the negative
❌ and don't compare yourself to others 

That last one is perhaps the most crucial of all. It took me YEARS to learn this, and only then was I finally happy with myself and legitimately thankful for all that I had. I’m bolding this part because it’s tremendously important:

Do not compare yourself to others – only compare yourself to yesterday’s you. Are you doing better than yesterday? Great! Keep heading in that direction! Are you doing worse than yesterday? That’s okay, because now we can figure out what went wrong and change today’s course to head in the right direction :)

Don't forget to be thankful even when life gets tough! Remember: growth cannot happen without stress, and evolution cannot happen without change.

Thankful for what we have every day

Thanksgiving Day happens just once a year, but the best way to show our thanks is to be thankful every day. We can be thankful for the little things, like having internet to read these Design Notes, those leftovers in the fridge because YUM, taking hot showers, having cold A/C, or even knowing where you left your car keys. And don't forget about those BIG things to be super thankful for: your friends, family, furry friends, all that you have, all that you WILL have, and, most importantly of all, your health!  

Oh… and of course my mother’s home-made baklava, which I am exceptionally grateful for 😋

Treasure Chests Details

There is a small chance to get a mysterious Treasure Chest as a reward drop when you battle ANY monster in-game. Have you found one yet?

Treasure chests are a fun - but completely optional - way to get exclusive items in AdventureQuest Worlds. The chests have a less than 1% chance of dropping from ANY monster in the entire game. Each one contains one of over 215 epic items that you can't get anywhere else (and the number will keep growing)!

• All of the items are 0 AC so you can store them for free 
• All of the items are non-member so you can use them forever

There's just one problem. You can't open the Treasure Chests without a Magic Key. The good news is that Twilly (the little red Moglin in Battleon) has a few extras and will happily sell you one for 200 ACs and open your chest for you.

Monthly Membership Perk Arrives Thursday, September 1st

Members, log in and talk to Twilly this Sunday to claim your two FREE treasure chest keys! Collect treasure chests as you battle through Lore, then use the keys to open them for new free items.

Art + Rarity Changes

IoDA Reward Rarity Changes:

From Cemaros, the AQWorlds Head Bug Smasher: Hi folks! In an on-going effort to make the IoDA program more user friendly, we have made additional clarifications to when an item is available for IoDA use, and item rarities. You can find the new information here.

Gothika + Enchanted Gothika Armor Art Update:

It was brought to our attention that the art released in-game was too close to another artist's work. The art for the Gothika and Enchanted Gothika armor has been updated. Out of respect for the original artist's work, no version of the previous armor will be available.

If you would like a full refund for the Enchanted Gothika Armor, please contact Artix Support and they will undo the purchase to return your 900 ACs.

Thursday Feature Update

Cosmetic Slots and Outfit Loadouts

After your many battlecries, these long requested features have made it into the game! 

1) Equipment Sets: pick sets of equippable gear to switch between. Items must be in your inventory to select and also to equip their set.

2) Cosmetic System: Worn cosmetic items now show to other players. Wearing cosmetic items lets you keep the appearance of one item while using the stats from other items

What are cosmetic slots? Good Question!

This system is similar to how you can equip an armor on top of a class: the armor art shows, but you use the skills of the class "underneath" it. With cosmetic slots, you'll be able to wear items, but use the boosts of the items equipped "underneath" them. 

Example: you equip the Necrotic Sword of Doom, but choose Default Sword as the cosmetic. You'll keep the stats of the NSoD, but you and other players will see the Default Sword equipped.

Equipped item: the game will use any boosts attached to the item/s you have equipped
Worn item: the game will display the art of the items you have in your cosmetic slots

Please note that when we say "wear item," we're referring to you wearing an item cosmetically. Similarly, "worn items" refer to whatever cosmetic items are currently being worn.

Important information:

• Cosmetic system will only work for weapons, armors, helmets, and capes.
• In PVP, you can still continue to see your own cosmetics, but every other player will show their real equipment

Equipped items will be highlighted in purple in your inventory
Worn items will be highlighted in green in your inventory 

To wear an item, you simply select “Show” rather than “Equip” in your inventory.

To remove (or "unwear") an item, you can select the item highlighted in green and select "Hide."

Updates coming in the future:

• Character pages will display items in your cosmetic slots (currently your equipped items will still be displayed)

Remember: if you equip an item and don't see the art change... this is why! 

** As this is a new system, there may be bugs or unexpected issues. If you are reporting bugs to the bug tracker, please keep in mind that you now have "equipped items" and "worn/cosmetic items. 

Equipment Sets

The new outfits / equipment sets feature will let you mass-equip a set of items in one button click!

Important information:

• You'll get 10 free outfit slots

Updates coming in the future:

• Purchasing additional outfit slots (these will cost 100 ACs each)

To access this feature, navigate to the “Your Hero” button on the game interface and click on "Outfits"

You will be met with a new interface that will let you create sets, or select existing sets to wear at the click of a button. 

Go ahead and try it out for yourself in-game!

November Seasonal Set: Harvest Hunters

Available every year from November 1st - 30th

November is when the Fall season REALLY hits in the United States. Pumpkin Spice everything is in stores, the leaves have fallen (or are starting to) and the temperatures around the underground lab finally drop below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This is harvest time in the Northern Hemisphere, and Thanksgiving in the United States, Canada, China, Germany, Grenada, Japan, and Norfolk Island. To help ALL our heroes celebrate, this month's seasonal set features the Harvest Hunters - the HeroHunter and Lycan Stalker armors.

November Set: The Harvest Hunters

Unlock the Hero Hunter or Lycan Stalker armors and all the Harvest Hunter accessories!

There are two ways to get the gear:

1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD 

2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon. 

The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 4,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the Harvest Hunters pack is a pretty sweet deal (you save 2,000 ACs).

Is this the same as the monthly upgrade bonus? 

Monthly upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in upcoming years.

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through November 30th.

Where do I get my gear if I buy the full set through the website?

You'll find it in your Book of Lore.
