Wheel of Doom: Bonus Prize Drops

Each time you spin the Wheel of Doom, in addition to the gold, EXP boost, and Treasure Potion you receive, you'll have a chance to get a bonus prize. These equippable items include Doom versions of some of the game's earliest "Unassigned" rarity items and many items created exclusively for the Wheel. We'll continue adding new sets to the Wheel of Doom's merge shop in the coming months.

Spin the Wheel, Collect Treasures, Choose Your Prize

Each time you spin the Wheel of Doom, you'll get a Treasure Potion to spend in the Doom Merge Shop. Save up 1,000 and you'll be able to buy a Wicked Item of Donated Awesomeness. Each WIoDA lets you choose a rare or valuable item* straight from your account manager.

How to Claim your Prize

Make sure you have a confirmed email address attached to your game account, and then follow these steps:

Decide on the item you want
Log into your Account Manager
Click on the "Awesome Prizes" link on the sidebar
You'll see a list of the IoDA tokens you have available
Choose from a list of ALL the eligible item rewards
You'll be taken to a verification page to confirm your choice

Redeem IoDA tokens to get even MORE bonuses

For each of the first six eligible IoDA tokens you receive , you'll get a FREE Bonus IoDA. The eligible tokens are the Ultimate, Epic, Platinum, Wicked and Golden tokens. After that, you'll get a free Bonus IoDA for every 3 eligible IoDA you redeem, with no maximum stack. So if you have that dream set of gear you want to create... now you'll be able to.

After you redeem your...

1st IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA
2nd IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA
3rd IoDA, you'll unlock 1free bonus IoDA
4th IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA
5th IoDA, you'll unlock 1 free bonus IoDA

Skullbound Warrior + Underworld Warden Updates

Last week, we said the artist crafting the Skullbound Warrior had been caught up with some big real-life shifting. Good news! They've arrived and sent the files in yesterday. The items will release next Friday in the Collection Chest + birthday rares shop.

The Underworld Warden capes + house items are still on their way, but we wanted to get this week's Darkon story release + gear out to you as early as possible. Enjoy, and keep an eye on the Design Notes for the Warden gear's arrival this weekend.

Dage vs Nulgath War: The Eternal Conflict Part

This Weekend: the 10th Anniversary of the Dage vs Nulgath War

Ten years have passed since the first time you chose a side and fought in the eternal conflict between Dage the Evil and Nulgath the ArchFiend. The time to battle has come once more. Log in /join darkwar to fight for your commander. Prove your loyalty and worth as you fight to determine -- again -- which Commander's forces are strongest, and whose power is darkest.

Join /darkwar this weekend to:

Choose a side and fight for Dage or Nulgath
Defeat enemies to complete war waves and raise the war meter
25% War Meter: New map area, monsters, quests, and merge shop resource unlocked

Master of the UnderWorld story so far...

It has been 10 years since AQW heroes first battled through the Dage vs Nulgath war. The Master of the Underworld story tells a tale in 3 parts:

Part 1 in /FiendPast
The first chapter -- released in January to celebrate Nulgath's birthday -- was set in the distant past, as Nulgath reigned unchallenged. Your hero battles as Nulgath's Commandant. Your task? To observe Dage the Lich, a promising new addition to your Master's Nation... and assess his loyalty. (*insert ominous foreshadowing music here*)

Part 2 in /DageRecruit
The second chapter released last week as we celebrated Dage's birthday, and was also set in the past. Your hero plays AS Dage the Evil. Your goal? To recruit powerful allies, take out potential enemies, and gear up for war against your former master, Nulgath.

Part 3 in /DarkWar

The drumbeats of war sound once again! This weekend, we jump to the present day in the final chapter of the Master of the Underworld story. It's been ten years since the last all-out battle, and there is NO END in sight to the eternal conflict between these two sides. Play as your hero as you choose a side and fight to prove your allegiance and collect the dark, deadly rewards.

WHO am I fighting for? And why?

If you have been unfortunate to wander Nulgath's malevolent realm and quested for his powerful rewards, then you know exactly what he is. If you have journeyed to Shadowfall and navigated the halls of Gravelyn's fortress to join the Undead Legion, you've met Dage the Evil.

But that does not tell you who they ARE. Read on to learn more about the diabolical leaders you've bound yourselves to... and if you haven't yet, then now is the perfect time to decide which has your loyalty!

Once a power-mad necromancer, Dage signed Nulgath's contracts and rode the fast lane to even more strength. Eventually the time came for Dage, like so many others before him, to fulfill his contract and pay Nulgath for his power, but he had used his new knowledge to bind a portion of his soul to an armor of his own construction.

This remnant lives on and retains all the knowledge and strength of his previous life. Now Dage the Evil rivals Nulgath himself in evil power.

Through the ages, Nulgath has taken many forms and been known by many names. Recently however, it was revealed that each of his previous forms were merely larval stages of the diabolic evolution into his current, malevolent form.

Now Nulgath serves no master, only his own ceaseless lust for power and hunger for the souls he captures through his contracts. Since Dage the Evil's rise to power, it remains to be seen which of these creatures is truly the greatest evil.

AQWorlds Patch Notes

Reens, Cemaros and the AQW Bug Hunter team are busy squashing the bugs you submit each week to the Bug Tracker at www.Artix.com/bugs.

Please do not send non-release bugs on Twitter. They will get lost. Make sure you send bug report forms! You may now report bugs that are not account specific or are related to the most recent release on Discord in the Official Artix Games Discord Server, channel #aqw-bug-reports.

Check back weekly to see if the bug you reported has been addressed. Please remember that not all bugs are "easy fixes" so some reported and confirmed bugs from each week may not be on the fixed list as they will require more time or a different person to fix them.

Bug Fixes:

The Undead Legion saga has had apop changes in /seraph and /envy to better direct players to where they should be at.
Underworld Oni's Burning Blades (the daggers) now require Underworld Oni's Blades (the daggers) to merge, not the Underworld Oni's Blade (sword).
Ground Runes now show in inventory and bank.
8 Bit Daimyo now has his own description.
Apop on Commander Rand in /dagerecruit is now fixed and will allow you to continue your quests.

Art Fixes:

Great Dragon Armor now keeps the top and bottom joined.
Undead Seraphic General Armor has been taught how to use the legs.

Master of the Underworld, Part II

Dage's Dark Birthday 2021 continues this weekend!

Log in this weekend as we continue celebrating Dage the Evil's birthday with Part 2 of our "Master of the Underworld" story! Play as Dage as you recruit powerful allies, take out potential enemies, and gear up for war against his former master, Nulgath.

Who is Dage the Evil?

If you're just joining us, you might not know who Dage the Evil is. In-game, Dage the Evil is the leader of the Undead Legion, ruler of the Underworld, and the Dark Weaponsmith. Many years ago, in the real world, the artist behind the NPC started releasing more and more rewards for his birthday until it became an annual, fan-favorite holiday. But the zones for his one, true love... PVP... are availalbe all year long!

Underworld PVP zones:

Underworld Team PVP: /join dagepvp and choose which team you want to fight for
Underworld 1v1 PVP: /join dage1v1 and go head to head with your friend... or a stranger

Miscellaneous Fixes

Various miscellaneous combat bug fixes.

A patch was made to address disconnecting after dying in combat with monsters. Please report if you continue to run into this issue!
Fixed a bug that caused certain magical damage skills to not use the full damage range of weapons. Previously, some skills that did magical damage only used half of the weapon's damage range, rendering magic based classes significantly weaker when using weapons with large damage ranges.

Fixed a bug where Dage the Dark Lord’s safe zones were not registering under certain circumstances. Previously, there was a position desync whereupon entering the room, before moving, your position was registered incorrectly. If you attempted to move onto the right-side safezone before synchronizing your position, you would not make it on time without dashing.

Missing your Nation Vampire Armor?
Whoops! For about 5 minutes immediately after the release went live, the Nation Vampire armor was available for 100 ACs instead of 1,000 ACs. Captain Rhubarb ran a query to remove the item from accounts which purchased it, and refunded the ACs. You are able to go in and re-buy the armor now.

Our Month of Evil BEGINS NOW! New this year: all heroes can fight Dage, leader of the Undead Legion, in his ultimate form!

Beat the Challenge Boss to collect drops and get merge shop resources. Undead Legion members: take on Dage's ULTRA form to collect insignias and create boosted versions of some of his most popular gear.

Dage the Dark Lord Ultra Boss Battle

After you duel Dage without using his powers, members of the Legion may fight him at full strength. Fight him to earn 5 Dage Insignia per week*, which can be used to upgrade a variety of gear with endgame boosts. This fight is very challenging, and permanent, so take your time to strategize and practice the fight!

Dage the Dark Lord battle tips:

Making sure to duck under the protection spells when Dage summons a giant undead may save your life, but which one is active is random. Plan ahead to ensure you can reach both, and dash if you need to!
Noxious Decay will be active for most of the fight, inverting all of your direct (“numbers healing”) heals and HoT’s into damage. Plan around this carefully- there are opportunities to heal.
After the first minute of the fight, Dage will permanently gain Might of the Legion, significantly strengthening him. That’s when the real battle begins!
Dage recovers with each soul he consumes, so be wary to keep yours safe…

DIFFICULTY WARNING: Legion members, this fight is designed to challenge the best of the best...Dage's most skilled. We recommend you group up and study strategy. This fight takes skill, coordination, and (most likely) several attempts.

If you are a member of Dage's Undead Legion, YOU can take on ULTRA Dage to create "powered up" versions of the challenge fight gear. The Ultra Boss rewards will require:

membership in the Undead Legion
Legion Tokens
Insignias
base reward items from the Challenge boss

The Ultra Dage boss will ALSO let you upgrade some of your classic, fan-favorite legion armors and weapons into end-game boosted versions. We've added a mix of some of the most iconic rare and nonrare items, so that both old AND new players can show off their favorites!

Dark Caster Class Series Returns

The Undead Legion is made up of Lore's finest undead (and not-undead-yet) warriors. That is why last year, we brought back ALL the Dark Caster Class skills, tied to art created by Dage just for his birthday. Each class is available from Dage's Dark Birthday Shop for 2,000 ACs and will return each year for his birthday.

Infinite Dark Caster Class uses the Evolved DC class skills

Class Balance Change Log

Dragon Knight

This class was given some changes to play smoother and perform better, while largely remaining the same in design. Now performs as a mid-game to late-game solo class.

Spell Blade no longer applies Disarmed
+Dragon’s Fire now reaches max damage in 3 stacks, and damage slightly increased
Dragon’s Fire range increased to medium, cooldown lowered to 6 seconds, and now does damage that always hits and never crits
Dragon’s Might range increased to medium, cooldown lowered to 6 seconds, and now does damage that always hits and never crits
Dumbfounded now decreases enemy Physical Damage and Crit Chance by 25%
Swordplay cooldown reduced to 13 seconds, and now applies Masterful to the caster if the enemy is Dumbfounded, increasing Damage and Dodge by 10%, stacking up to 3, lasting 10 seconds
Swordplay Aura now applies to the caster, and increases defense by 40%
Dragon Breath cooldown reduced to 13 seconds, now applies Blazing Siphon to caster if the enemy has Flammable, an HoT, stacking to 3 and lasting 12 seconds
Dance of Blades no longer randomly applies Dance of Blades, and instead increases Haste by 10%

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as an upgrade bonus?

Upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages; new bonus gear comes out roughly every month. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

This set will return EVERY March, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in upcoming years.

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through January 31st.

Where do I get my gear if I buy the full set through the website?

You'll find it in your Book of Lore.
