As a way of saying "thanks!" to the heroes who did not get muted or banned in 2020 (an even greater feat than in normal years!). In this year of unprecendented challenges, you kept your cool, followed the rules without fail, and emerged from the fires still standing strong. As an incentive for everyone to keep following the rules in 2021, we are awarding players who helped keep AdventureQuest Worlds a positive, fun, and family-friendly game!

What's an honorable hero, you ask? Good question! They are what true in-game heroes and role models are, and we want to reward them for a year's worth of good behavior... with 500 FREE AdventureCoins and a character page badge! 

Starting today, if your hero account meets the following requirements:

• Did not receive a 24 hour or longer in-game mute or ban in 2020
• Not currently disabled
• Logged in between January 1st, 2020 and December 31st, 2020

IoDA Redemption “Undo” Phase Out

Hi everyone!  This is Zohrah!  A lot of you know me as the IoDA Lady.  Today, I’ve asked Alina to post the next phase of the IoDA changes for me, but I wanted to write to you all myself.

First of all, thank you all for your support of the IoDA system.  I’m so glad that so many of you enjoy it so much!  It’s been fun and interesting helping everyone out these past 2 years!

The IoDA system was always intended to become strictly automated, player’s being able to get their own prizes, since it was conceived.  It’s had to go through some seemingly wild changes to get to that point as we tested everything, from the Wheel of Doom spin security, to how to go about automating the prize placement.

On our last update, we got the automated prize placement working and out to everyone.  At that time, we allowed a one time only Undo choice per account.  This was due to how I had previously not awarded prizes until 24 hours after the request came in, in case players changed their mind on what they wanted.  

There have never been any time limits on when you can turn these wonderful little tokens in. You have all the time you want to look at items, check the Wiki, ask your friends questions, and make a decision on what the exact item you want is.

And now for the sad news.  As of February 1, 2021, we will no longer be doing any Undo requests for items you chose.  Having to Undo prize placements was still a manual process, and we’ve found that it is not a sustainable option we can continue to offer. So just make sure you take as much time as you need to check… and double-check… (even triple-check!!!) the item you want before you choose it!  

We will still honor any requests which come in between now and January 31st, but after that, we'll begin following this new policy and will not be able to undo any mistakes.   

Please, take your time and make sure you are getting the EXACT prize you want!

Items selected will be exactly as they appear on the AQW Wiki. Items cannot be changed in any form.  This means if an item is member tagged on the Wiki, it does require membership to use.  If an item is listed as having a gold price, it cannot be given an AC tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as the monthly upgrade bonus? 

Monthly upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

This set will return EVERY December, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2019, or 2020, or 2021, etc.

If this isn't the monthly upgrade bonus, what IS the bonus in December?

The next upgrade bonus will be available from December 7th - January 4th, and are the golden and platinum color-custom Northern Royalty armors. 

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through November 30th.

Where do I get my gear if I buy the full set through the website?

Frostval 2020 Event

Something is not right in Frostvale...

The moglins of Frostvale were excited about the holiday, just like every year. But this year... something just isn't right. The sun is growing dim, and the cold has a strange flavor. Sick and sour and unsettling. The little moglins cry for no reason; villagers feel a darkness inside -- despair? -- that they cannot explain. It’s getting bad enough that they may have to cancel Frostval… unless YOU can find out what’s causing this and stop it.

Artix Launcher FAQ

What is the Artix Games Launcher?
The Artix Games Launcher is a downloadable client that lets you log in and play our Flash browser games straight from your desktop computer.

Is the Artix Games Launcher safe?
You bet! All downloads from any official Artix Entertainment game or website are safe and will not give your computer or network viruses.

How do I run the Launcher on Linux?
If you are running Linux, you may have to make the .applmage executable depending on what file manager you are using. In most cases, simply right click -> properties -> permissions -> check allow executing or in the terminal: chmod +x ./Artix_Games_Launcher-x86_64.AppImage.

Does the Launcher work on Chromebooks?
Artix Entertainment does not have an official ChromeOS version of the Artix Games Launcher for use on Chromebooks. Chromebooks have an option to run Linux alongside ChromeOS using a tool called "Crouton." Here is a guide for now to install Linux on your Chromebook. Once you've installed Linux on your Chromebook, you can download the Linux version of the Artix Games Launcher on your device.

What about other Artix Games?
Our first cross platform game is AdventureQuest 3D. This game can be played on iOS/Android devices and via Steam.

HeroSmash will not be playable via the Artix Games Launcher. We will leave the game online and available for heroes with existing accounts for as long as the internet allows. 

Our mobile games are AdventureQuest: BattleGems, AdventureQuest: Dragons, AdventureQuest: Undead Assault and BioBeasts. These games can be played on iOS/Android devices and BattleGems can also be played on Kindle devices.

Will you convert your Flash Games to Mobile?
We would like to convert all our most popular older Flash games to mobile or create new versions of them. The Omni team is currently working on converting AdventureQuest Worlds to its next version, AQW Mobile, which will be playable on mobile devices, your computer, and maybe more! 

* If you are a fan of the classic log in screens, never fear. We've included a link to them, and will leave them up as long as we are able... or until the internet forces us to change plans.

2021 Calendar Class: Nechronomancer

Unlock the exclusive class when you get the 2021 Calendar

When you get the 2021 Calendar from HeroMart, you'll unlock in-game rewards inside AQ3D, AdventureQuest, DragonFable, EpicDuel, and the Nechronomancer Class / Armor set in AQWorlds.

Although calendar classes have been traditionally solo focused, we decided to do something different this time around; so with that being said, this year’s farming focused calendar class relies on its necromancy arts to wither down its foes and its time magic to buff itself up and tear open portals through time.

Nechronomancer Details

Description: Recommended enhancements: Lucky, Fighter. Time and death, two things a dragon thought they would never fear.

Mana Regen: Nechronomancers gain mana from all hits landed in combat, and especially on crits. The amount depends on damage relative to *their own* HP total.

Skill Breakdown

Type: Physical
Range: Infinite
Cooldown: 1.5 seconds

Conjure a forbidden hex that deals damage to up to 3 targets and infects their cells with Necrosis, dealing additional damage to them over 5 seconds, stacks to 5. Auto attacking targets affected by Necrosis heals you for a portion of the damage dealt, increased by each stack.

Your main source of healing, the more you stack Necrosis on a target, the more you heal. At first glance it may seem like a lot of healing, but you’re going to need it!

Cooldown: 2 seconds

Use your life essence to tap into the power of time. Deals damage to up to 3 targets and applies a stack of Chaos Rift for each target hit. Stacks to 4 and lasts 30 seconds. Also applies Passage of Time for 8 seconds, both effects are used to empower your other abilities. You also go into an Eternal Frenzy, increasing your outgoing damage by 6% for 4 seconds, stacks to 9. Costs 10% of your maximum HP per target hit. 

It might be a farming focused class but the Temporal Rift aura isn’t going anywhere! For those unaware, Temporal Rift is an aura that is found on most (looking at you, TimeKiller) calendar classes and is usually their primary source of damage. When the first stack of Temporal Rift is applied, all damage you deal is stored, and then upon using your Rift Collapse skill, a percentage of that damage done in the last 10 seconds prior to using that skill is dealt to your target, multiplied by any additional stacks of Temporal Rift you have (up to 4) and the skill’s damage multiplier. One thing to note is that since this skill hits up to 3 targets, Temporal Rift (or Chaos Rift, in this case) can be stacked faster than ever before!

Additionally this skill also stacks your outgoing damage so your abilities can pack even more of a punch, just remember that this skill costs HP to use, so using it too much without taking the time to heal could spell trouble.

Cooldown: 5 seconds

Your mastery of time magic combined with your necromancy arts allow you to raise undead in an instant. Summons undead minions that attack up to 3 targets and applies Travelling Through Time, increasing your Haste by 30% for 8 seconds. If Passage of Time is active, applies Foreseeable Future, increasing your Crit Chance by 20% for 8 seconds, stacks to 3. 

Your primary buff skill that should max out your Haste and Crit Chance, this allows for more consistent damage output.

ShadowScythe’s Past

Type: Physical
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 13
Cooldown: 10 seconds

Tear open a portal in time and draw upon immense power from a past battle. Hits up to 3 targets and deals increased damage for each stack of Necrosis on them. After a short moment, your primary target takes damage based on the amount you’ve dealt while under the effects of Chaos Rift in the past 10 seconds. Consumes Necrosis and Chaos Rift stacks. Always hits but can’t crit.

Immense power from a past battle, I wonder what that could be? Your “Rift Collapse” skill but with a bit of a twist as it also consumes your primary source of healing in order to do extra damage to your targets. Good thing Necrosis stacks fast. 

ShadowScythe’s Future

Rank needed: 5
Target: Enemy
Max Targets: 3
Range: Infinite
Mana Cost: 13
Cooldown: 3.5 seconds

Relive the rebirth of your Empress. If you have stacks of Chaos Rift, they are consumed to apply Empress’s Awakening which heals you after 1 second and consumes all stacks of Eternal Frenzy. Also applies debuffs based on your active effects to up to 3 additional targets:

Travelling Through Time: -20% Dodge
Foreseeable Future: +20% damage taken
Passage Of Time: -20% Hit Chance

Effects last for 10 seconds.

Your emergency heal (if you need it) and monster debuff skill. The fun thing about this skill is that if you don’t have Chaos Rift stacks when you use it, you can debuff your targets while still being able to keep your Eternal Frenzy stacks, use this to your advantage.

Conclusion

Nechronomancer is a unique farming class that can effectively handle all ranges of mob farming. Lean to a more aggressive playstyle by stacking Eternal Frenzy for more damage at the risk of running low on HP, or lean to a more defensive playstyle by constantly awakening the power of the Empress for extra healing, but at the cost of damage output. Though regardless of how you decide to use the class, you must always show your foes the supreme power of the ShadowScythe!

Timeless Chronomancer Class Update

Two years ago, we tried a new method of releasing calendar classes. The Underworld and Corrupted Chronomancer classes shared a core group of skills (the Timeless Chronomancer class skills) but came with unique consumable items which evolved those base skills into the unique combinations used by the Underworld and Corrupted Chronomancers.* 

Based on your feedback, emails, and comments from social media and chat platforms, we're removing some confusion and complexity by discontinuing the use of consumable items in this year's class and future ones.

These were a fun experiment, and we love trying new things! But we believe going back to the more streamlined, faster-to-jump-into-battle way of releasing Calendar classes will be easier for all heroes to understand going forward.

This year's class, the Nechronomancer, has a new set of skills that we are use Good *and* Evil heroes alike will enjoy... and the time to /charge into battle is almost here! Pre-ordered calendars will begin shipping out tomorrow.

*(If you were one of the highly-trained heroes who enjoyed how the Underworld and Corrupted Chronomancer classes were set-up... good news! Those classes are not changing.)

You began your adventures in Lore as a level 1 Hero with 0 gold. But this weekend, you'll finally be able to accumulate a RIDICULOUSLY LARGE amount of gold -- 100,000,000! We're pushing the gold cap ALL THE WAY to the max to end 2020 with a BANG.

How to Enter/ Rules

1. Create a piece of art using any food and any of the Artix games characters with a Frostvale theme. All culinary creatures are welcome!
2. Must be your own art.

December Seasonal Set: Northern Wanderer

Available every year from December 1st - 31st

Winter is coming (for many of you, it's already here!), and so are all our snow-covered, ice-laden, gift-bearing holiday events! To help ALL our heroes celebrate, this month's seasonal set features the Northern Wanderers - the Northern Wanderer and Fallen Wanderer armors.

December Set: The Northern Wanderer

Starting this Tuesday at 12:01 AM EST (that's server time), unlock the Northern Wanderer and Fallen Wanderer armors and all their accessories!

There are two ways to get the gear:

1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD 

2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon.

The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 4,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the Northern Wanderers pack is a pretty sweet deal (you save 2,000 ACs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as the monthly upgrade bonus? 

Monthly upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

This set will return EVERY December, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2019, or 2020, or 2021, etc.

If this isn't the monthly upgrade bonus, what IS the bonus in December?

The next upgrade bonus will be available from December 7th - January 4th, and are the golden and platinum color-custom Northern Royalty armors. 

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through November 30th.

Where do I get my gear if I buy the full set through the website?
