Update: Yami No Ronin Class Fix
Our devs, along with a host of class, release, and other testers have been hitting the servers hard the last few days as we test out new changes to address the issue with Yami no Ronin's class skill.
Current estimate: member preview on Sir Ver early next week.
After we see early feedback from the member test on Sir Ver, we'll expand the test to one or two live servers so everyone else can preview the changes. Thank you all for your patience as we work to correct the issue in the best way possible.

Our May Seasonal Set features gear from our May the Fourth shop as we celebrate one of the most-beloved fictional universes and pop-culture phenomenons EVER. This month's seasonal gear will outfit you for adventures in space... and beyond: the J-Sixth Lord, Lightning Lich Emperor, and the StarWalker.
May Sets: May the Fourth Gear
Starting Friday, May 1st at 12:01 AM EST (that's server time), unlock our May the Fourth (be with you) sets: the Lightning Lich Lord, The StarWalker, and the J-Sixth Lord (with color-custom trim).
There are two ways to get the gear:
1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD
2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon.
The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 6,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the pack is a pretty sweet deal (you save 4,000 ACs).

Is this the same as an upgrade bonus?
Upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages; new bonus gear comes out roughly every month. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.
This set will return EVERY May, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2020, or 2021, or 2022, etc.
If this isn't a new upgrade bonus, what IS the next bonus?
You can see all the available upgrade bonuses on our upgrade site. The next bonus set will be available soon, so keep an eye on the Design Notes!
What if I just want ONE of the items?
You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through May 31st.

Bug Fixes:
- Galactic Naval Commander has been de-lagged.
- Blademaster Sword Scroll & Yokai Sword Scroll have been AC tagged.
- The Endless Doom badge had been improperly awarding without doing the Endless Bridge to Nowhere achievement. This has now been fixed. If you did not walk the Endless Bridge, your charpage badge has vanished until you walk the bridge now. If you had already walked the bridge, you still have your charpage badge. (This was necessary as it was causing confusion on attempting to enter doomvaultb)
Art Fixes:
- Corrupted Mana Staff had some orange bits greened.
- Dark Grenblade has been de-greened.
- Sheevra Armor had a rogue pixel removed.
- Paragon Naval Commander (M) tailcoat detail added, (F) arm position fixed

The Shadows of War: Evil Alliance Saga conclusion
The final chapter in our Shadows of War: Alliance of Evil story is live! Defend Shadowfall against the invading ShadowFlame army… and then travel through the shadows to reach its source. Team up with Dage the Evil and Nulgath the ArchFiend as they seek to ally with Gravelyn, Empress of the ShadowScythe in the war against Malgor. But beware... Malgor has other, darker plans in store.

Yami no Ronin Bug Fix Update
Earlier this evening, a fix was rolled to the YnR class's DOT skill to prevent glitch abuse... but that fix caused instant, total damage, setting the player's HP to 0. Monday, the team will meet to revise the bug fix. An updated skill will roll ASAP.
This issue will only occur if the DOT is used under specific circumstances. If you are playing the game normally and using the class as intended, you will not experience the insta-kill issue. Please keep an eye on the Design Notes for further information later this coming week.

GrenWog Returns with New Bosses + Gear
Talk to Cabdury (the friendliest, most inedible bunny in town) to access this year's Egg Hunt quests + to take on the dreaded Grenwog! Once you've finished collecting the eggs around Battleon and Battleontown, unlocked the Backpack of Eggs and the Vorpal Bunny pet, and battled the Grenwog, you can search for a NEW treat... Candy Eggs!
Chocolate eggs… creme eggs… caramel eggs… even rainbow marshmallow eggs! You just have battle the right monsters to find them. (Hint: Cabdury placed them in map zones that start with the letters /gre -- check the wiki for more help)

Now Available: Yami no Ronin Class
A wicked new reward!
Malgor's forces are on the move, and to fight against them, Dage has presented you the opportunity to gain a powerful new class! With links to Blademasters, the Shadowflame Army, and the ancient Yokai samurai, the Yami no Ronin bends the shadows to its will as a formidable solo and PvP class!
This class will be permanently available in /darkally.
To create this class, you will need:
- 1 Blademaster Sword Scroll
- 1 Yokai Sword scroll (requires Rank 10 Yokai faction)
How do you get a Blademaster Sword Scroll?
There are 5 ways to get it:
- Complete a quest with the rare 2,000 AC Blademaster class (Rank 10)
- Complete a quest with the rare 2,000 Legion Token Blademaster class (Rank 10)
- Complete a quest with the new 2,000 AC Swordmaster* class (Rank 10)
- Complete a quest with the new 2,000 Legion Token Swordmaster* class (Rank 10)
- Not a Legion member? You can still earn a Blademaster Sword Scroll by learning the Legion sword techniques yourself by sparring with Legion Blademasters!
It’ll be no easy feat to get the Yokai Sword scroll. Said to be lost to the sands of time, you’ll unlock the forgotten techniques once you sharpen your mind and forge a blade out of your own spirit**.

*Players with either 2014 Blademaster class can get their equivalent Swordmaster class from /curio.
**The Yami no Ronin Katana is a sweet sword that does 15% more damage to any monster, and gives 25% more class points, XP, gold, and rep when equipped!
Yami no Ronin Skill Breakdown
A master of blades without a master, the Yami no Ronin strikes from the cover of darkness by bending the shadows to their will.
Yami no Ronin regain mana when they:
- Strike an enemy in combat (more effective on crits)
- Dodge any attack (restores HP as well)

Type: Physical
Mana cost: 0
Cooldown: 2 seconds
Range: Melee
Description: Attack your enemy from the shadows using the cover of darkness. Each hit applies Flash for 8 seconds, decreasing your dodge chance by 7%, incoming damage by 3%, and increasing your outgoing damage, hit chance, and crit chance by 5%. Stacks to 20.
Like ShadowScythe General, this class trades one of its resources for another. You'll find yourself slowly increasing in power as you use your attacks, at the cost of revealing yourself from behind the cover of darkness. When you do, be prepared to unleash massive damage on every attack, because max stacks of Flash gives you +100% outgoing damage, +100% hit chance, and +100% crit chance.

Mana cost: 3
Cooldown: 3 seconds
Range: Melee
Description: Sequentially cut through your opponent’s defenses with three strikes, each dealing strong damage. The first strike increases all your outgoing damage by 20%, the second strike increases all your physical damage by 20%, and the third strike increases your critical hit damage by 50%.
This skill grants one of three effects in order: increasing all out by +20%, increasing phys out by 20%, and then increasing critical hit damage by 50%. You'll want to time it right if you want to choose which effect you want to pair with your other attacks.
Yami no Māku

Type: Physical
Mana cost: 20
Cooldown: 14 seconds
Range: Long
Description: Wrap your weapon in shadows and lash out, releasing a shockwave of homing dark energy. The darkness gradually consumes your opponent before fading away, applying a DoT that grows progressively stronger for 8 seconds. Also has a 35% chance to apply Spinning Dragon, reducing the next hit you take to 0 damage.
This is a long-range unavoidable DoT that grows in power as it ticks down, providing guaranteed damage against even the most agile of enemies. A 35% chance to inflict Spinning Dragon on your foe offers protection when your opponent manages to hit you through your dodges.
Kyūketsu

Type: Physical
Mana cost: 3
Cooldown: 3 seconds
Range: Melee
Description: Gouge your target with your weapon, dealing strong damage. You also absorb their life force, restoring your health based on damage dealt. Also applies one stack of Flash.
Drain a little bit of HP from your foe while dealing damage. While you build up stacks of Flash to increase the damage you deal and receive, this skill can provide enough sustain to hold on for a little longer. It gives more stacks of Flash though, which will further increase the damage you take...
Jigen Kōgeki
Rank Needed: 5
Type: Physical
Mana cost: 20
Cooldown: 6 seconds
Range: Melee
Description: Use your control of the shadows to tear through reality itself, dealing strong damage. If Yami is applied on your opponent, deals massive damage depending on how much time is left on before it fades (less time means more damage). Consumes all stacks of Flash.
The big 'wow' skill, this deals more damage when the Yami DoT is about to expire, is boosted by your stacks of Flash, AND purges Flash to reset your dodge! Time it correctly and dish out enormous amounts of damage when your foe least expects it, or use it early to bolster your evasion. Watch out however, this skill does not automatically hit -- if you miss, you may be more vulnerable than you like for much longer than you want.

Description: Increases dodge chance by 75%.

Description: Increases incoming damage by 15%.

At Rank 4 and above, your control of the shadows becomes as instinctive as breathing.
Conclusion
Yami no Ronin is an exciting class with great applications for both solo and PvP play. With its high dodge but challenging class mechanics, this is one class that will certainly give you an edge in combat, if you have the reflexes to use it!

Happy Monday, April 6th! The team has been going all out to keep our story releases flowing, and we've added daily gift updates as well since we know so many of you are unexpectedly off school for an extended period of time. With so much happening in the game and behind the scenes, we've got a few pieces of news to share.
Daily Login Gift Update
We know a lot of you have had unexpected schedule changes recently as your local communities respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. To help keep your spirits high in this time, we're making sure that when you log into AdventureQuest Worlds, you have even more to do. More rewards to hunt for, quests to complete, and battles to win. Originally, the 0 AC items were going to leave April 17th. Then we pushed that back to the end of April.
But after receiving many messages from our player community letting us know they're unable to log in due to local health/safety measures, we've extending the period that the items will drop. We will announce a revised leave date as situations around the world progress. We want everyone to stay safe, healthy, and #PlayApartTogether.
New ads on the game screen
Want to help the support AdventureQuest Worlds' game development, but don't have the ability to upgrade or buy AdventureCoins? Clicking on the play-now screen ads that you find even a little interesting helps the game stay alive and helps us continue to bring you new adventures and items week after week.
If you log in with a member account or are using the Artix Game Launcher, you will not see the ads by default.
Tier 2 Blademaster Class Update
We know so many of you are excited for the release of our newest class, the tier 2 Blademaster, Yami no Ronin. The farming quests and balance for the class are still in progress. We'll be able to give everyone a better idea for the release date later on this week.

(Re) Introducing... Barber Class! (No Joke)
Hair today, gone tomorrow... and back again! Almost 12 years ago, we launched the Barber Class. It had a unique armor, but the same skills as Rogue Class. It was removed back in 2010 and ever since, we've gotten requests to 1) bring the class back and 2) give it unique skills.
We originally planned to launch the return of the new Barber Class last week, but needed to address several animation issues. As of tonight... those requests have become a reality... in a slightly different form! Find Barber Class in the Class Shop, as well as Bev's shop in Battleontown for 20,401 gold.
For you experienced heroes who still have the original Barber Class (now called Classic Barber), you'll keep your art and rogue-clone skills. Drop a few gold and you can try out the new class's unique skills, then decide which you like better.
If this is your first go-round the barber pole, then you're in luck! Check out the hair-raising skills and animations, enjoy the swanky bowtie on the armor, and cut your opponents down to size!

New story release this Friday: Alliance of Evil, Part 2
Last month, we began a new three-part arc in our main story, Shadows of War, featuring the ShadowLord Malgor and his attemp to ally with the forces of EVIL. Dage was not deceived by Malgor's empty promises, and needed your help to defend his realm. This week, Malgor's focus turns to one of the other three main Evil factions... Nulgath the ArchFiend and his Nation of deadly warriors. Log in this Friday for a dark new adventure, wicked reward items, and a new armor set in the Featured Gear Shop in your game menu.

There are two ways to get the gear:
1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD
2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon.
The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 4,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the pack is a pretty sweet deal (you save 2,000 ACs).

Is this the same as an upgrade bonus?
Upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages; new bonus gear comes out roughly every month. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.
This set will return EVERY April, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2020, or 2021, or 2022, etc.
