Platinum Item of Donated Awesomeness

We've gotten a lot of really positive feedback after introducing the free spins... but also a lot of you who wanted 1) a way to make sure you got an Item of Donated Awesomeness and 2) kept spinning in a quest to get the Epic Item of Donated Awesomeness to drop from the Wheel... and then not didn't get it.

That's why we introduced the Platinum Item of Donated Awesomeness. This item is available from the Doom Merge Shop, so even if you don't receive the EIoDA as a bonus prize, you can save up your Treasure Potions and get the PIoDA.

Important Points

The PIoDA will be a Wheel of Doom merge shop exclusive.
Cost: 1,000 Treasure Potions.
You can get both the EIoDA (from the Wheel) and the PIoDA (from the merge shop)
The PIoDA currently stacks up to x5. We are currently planning to raise the cap later this year.

At a cost of 1,000 Treasure Potions, that means a member who ONLY uses their one free spin per day/week will need to log in every day for about 2.5 years to get it... but they WILL get it eventually.

Shadows Of War: Jinx's Quest

Quest to recover the Pirate Queen's Gem

The Shadows of War Saga continues as we fight to escape the labrynth of treasures littering the hoard of Jinx the Thief. But the way home is long and deadly, especially when you take a wrong turn through a portal and wind up in Battleon... twenty years in the future. This weekend, battle to survive Shadowlord Malgor's minions, recover the Eye of Teja, and find your way back to your town, in your time.

The Story So Far...

The Queen of Monsters is dead, but the War of Shadows is far from over. His army has invaded our world, his minions seek to turn you over to him, and if you're going to stop him, you'll need two things, FAST: allies + power.

Final Weekend: Unlock the ShadowZard Set

Starting Saturday, June 1st at 12:01 AM EST (that's server time), unlock the ShadowZard Mount and Rider set.

There are two ways to get the gear:

1) Total package: Buy the entire set directly through the website for $9.99 USD

2) Individually: Buy each of the individual pieces from Garek the Traveling Gear Merchant in Battleon.

The total cost to buy all of the gear individually is 5,000 ACs, so getting all the gear from the pack is a pretty sweet deal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as an upgrade bonus?

Upgrade bonus gear is an extra reward for buying AdventureCoin or Membership packages; new bonus gear comes out roughly every month. Seasonal set packs are bought separately. Just like the Flame Dragon Warrior pack, you can buy the entire set directly, for one price, on our site. You can ALSO buy the individual pieces in-game.

This set will return EVERY June, so if you can't get it now, you'll have another chance in 2020, or 2021, or 2022, etc.

If this isn't a new upgrade bonus, what IS the next bonus?

You can see all the available upgrade bonuses on our upgrade site. The next bonus set will be available soon, so keep an eye on the Design Notes!

What if I just want ONE of the items?

You're in luck! Talk to Garek in Battleon. He'll be selling the individual pieces of the set through May 31st.

Lycan Class Updates

Class Improvements Continue this Weekend

Welcome to the Lycan revamp! Another class in the series of revamps looking to enhance the way rep classes play. The new Lycan Class offers a new take on the old class, now focusing more on offense, defense, and PvP!

This is a straight buff from the original class. No need to buy a new version and rank it up all the way to 10 again. For those who want to try it out but don’t have it yet, the methods to get it are still the same: if you have rank 10 Lycan Rep, you can buy the class for 50,000 Gold or pick it up for 2,000 ACs.

Recommended enhancement: Fighter. So.. Who let the dogs out? Oh. You ARE the dog?… I sure hope your bark is worse than your bite. (Class will not go rare)

Mana Regeneration: Lycans gain mana when they strike an enemy in combat or are struck by an enemy in combat.

Skill Breakdown

Auto Attack

Mana Cost: 0
Cooldown: 2 sec.
Cooldown Type: Physical
Range: Short Ranged
Description: Double click a monster to start Auto Attacking it. This is a basic attack, taught to all adventurers. Damage dealt is based on your weapon damage.

Savagery
Rank needed: 1
Mana cost: 15
Cooldown: 4 sec
Type: Physical
Range: Medium Range
Description: With the strength and agility of a Lycan, even a clumsy flail in an attempt to hit something becomes an unavoidable barrage. You tap into your beastly nature and apply one stack of Instinct for 6 seconds, increasing physical outgoing damage by 5% per stack, stacks to 5. Also applies a stacking HoT for 15 seconds.

The skills on the revamped Lycan class now play better together, and Instinct is just the start. +25% physical damage also builds on any +all out%, giving you even more benefit from raw damage buffs. The HoT is also very generous. This skill never misses, ensuring that you can always stack your effects.

Cooldown: 6 sec.
Type: Physical
Range: Medium Ranged
Description: The thrill of battle gives you a rush. If Keystone Predator is active, applies Endless Hunt for 10 seconds, which increases your crit chance, crit damage, and dodge chance by 15%.

Costing 0 MP, this skill lets you constantly regain aggro from monsters to regain mana to sustain your other skills at no cost. If you have Keystone Predator, this free skill becomes even better.

Pouncing Strike
Rank needed: 3
Mana cost: 30
Cooldown: 20 sec.
Type: Physical
Range: Long Range
Description: With your new legs you send a mighty leaping kick to the head of your enemy, causing them, at the very least, to become really dizzy, reducing Critical Strike Chance by 50% and Dodge Chance by 30% for 20 seconds. If the opponent was stunned by Howl of Terror, increases their incoming damage by either 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30% proportional to the length of their stun.

You want to chain Howl into Pounce. You inflict a more powerful defense debuff if you roll a long stun, although even the weakest stun has a respectable effect. The effects last long enough that you can Pounce a second time to get a bigger boosted hit, and then you’ll be able to take advantage of a few seconds where the target is extra-vulnerable.

Howl of Terror

Range: Long Range
Description: You let loose a blood-curdling call to the sky and your opponent, shaking them to their core. Applies Keystone Predator, which increases outgoing damage by 15% for 15 seconds. Also applies one of four stuns, lasting either 2, 3, 4, or 6 seconds.

This is your opener. Stun your target, and start stacking your effects immediately. Keystone Predator boosts your HoT and also activates Endless Hunt, while Pouncing Strike shreds the target’s defense. Because the stun can have a very low duration, timing it well is important.

Conclusion

Previously, Lycan felt like it underperformed and was therefore often left at the back of the pack. These new changes come with increased offensive and defensive capabilities, greater synergy between its skills, and reduced mana costs in order to allow for more frequent skill use. So howl at the moon (or your foes), and rejoin the hunt in the endless night of Darkovia.

Happy Father's Day... of DOOM

Celebrate Lore's Darkest Dad with a new ShadowScythe adventure

This weekend is Father's Day, and this year, we want to /cheer on all our fathers. But especially Sepulchure, the most maligned, misunderstood father an Empress could ever have. This weekend, log in and travel back in time to the days when Empress Gravelyn was knee-high to a skeletal warrior. Battle to help Sepulchure's undead assistant keep his little Princess from destroying the dracolich fortress and try to survive her first experiments into necromancy. She's her father's favorite, and he is a VERY PROUD PAPA. Making her cry might be the LAST thing you ever do. Literally.

Bug Fixes:

Quest box for Legion Revenant fixed on Yorumi server.
Lowered the drop rate for Thanatos armor and helm. After receiving a bug report on the drop rate, we searched through Design Notes archives and found that the original drop rate was 0.01%. That drop rate was a temporary gift for Dage the Evil's 2018 birthday. It will be raised to 10% for his next birthday event in 2020.

AC Items and Inventory Spaces

We’ve been getting a fair number of reports from players stating that AC items are taking up space in their inventory. This is not a bug! This is a misunderstanding. AC items do take up space in your inventory. They do not take up space in your bank. We cannot make free inventory storage for AC items due to how the game handles character loading. If we did this, eventually, you would not be able to finish loading before you errored out.

House Hunters: Construction Quest

Talk to Carl in /BuyHouse to build 10 new houses!

Last month, we asked on social media what in-game buildings/maps you'd like to see turned into equippable houses... and now, construction is ready to begin! Head to the /buyhouse zone and talk to Carl (of the 3 Little Wolves) to begin questing for the building materials you'll need to craft your perfect house.

House Hunt Details

To craft your dream home, you'll only need two things: the blueprint for that floorplan and building materials. Lots of building materials. Each floorplan has a different way to get it.

Talk to Carl to quest for the building materials you'll need. Each house requires a hefty load of wood, glass, and other materials. Plus gold. These little wolves don't oversee constructionf for free.

10 Year Achievement Tracker Class Update

Last October, we announced the newest Achievement Tracker rewards... exclusive class variants. Since the planned rewards were taking longer than expeceted, we released the class armor sets. But now, at long last, our most dedicated players will be able to unlock their free class variation!

Bug Fixes:

Dungeon Fiend Slime added to Dungeon Fiends. They drip a lot so the Castle Spiders are still collecting it too. They say it makes their webs stronger!

Art Fixes:

Legion Revenant art fixes to match the NPC.
Duality and Digital Duality armours fixed to remove an orange bit.
Acid Rain Mage female has the animation now.
Vampire Slayer Locks and Vampire Slayer Hat got some CC tweaks.
Nulgath's Birthday Gift head fixed, walk as fixed as it can be. This guy just has a hitch in his git along.
Animated items from the May Seasonal Shop tweaked some so the animation shows better:
     J-Sixth Blade
     Dual Enchanted J-Sixth Blades
     Opposing Forces Lightblades

So, I'm sure all the Buggy Fans have noticed that we are not posting every week anymore. This is because y'all have been so great at catching things early that there are less bugs being left in (and therefore being reported) so there aren't enough to merit a full DNs every week. So what I'm thinking of doing is on the weeks where there aren't enough reports to merit a DNs, how about I make a post with some of the more common reports we get that are not-bugs.
