Letter to our players

Greetings friends,

It has come to my attention… though a flurry of angry and concerned messages, that one of our former artists made a completely inappropriate, gender-bended, not safe-for-work parody of one of our childhood mascot characters.

Needless to say, we do not approve. I am going to contact the artist and do whatever is in my power to have it removed, and ensure their future works do not involve any of our beloved family-friendly characters.

Become an Upholder... and a Legend

8th Upholder is now available!

AQW is coming up on another birthday! That's means starting today, Friday, September 30th at 12:01 AM EST, we are once again offering the chance to become an AQW Upholder!*

September 30th, 2016 timeline:

• 12:01 AM EST: 8th Upholder goes live
• 6:00 PM EST: New October upgrade bonus, the Dark Sorcery set, goes live
• Tonight: Mogloween hub town and "Prelude to the Otherworld" side release go live

What is an Upholder?

Eight years ago, AdventureQuest Worlds went live and players jumped at the chance to become the first Members of AQW. These lucky, early supporters of the game became the game's Founders. Now, we are celebrating AQW's 8th birthday and offering YOU the chance to join the AQW Founders by becoming a 8th Upholder!

The first eight years have been crazy, insane, and awesome, but you have not seen anything yet. The Throne of Darkness Saga is about to end and we are about to return to a new, darker, and more chaotic (and arachic) Queen of Monsters Saga. If you played through the recent Celestial Realm and Paladin vs Undead stories, you've seen hints of what creatures may come... and they aren't pretty.

The server rewrite testing continues as all you heroes continue to help us refine and improve the new system before it goes live! 

What does an 8th Upholder get?

As an 8th Upholder, you'll receive:

• Exclusive Upholder Class: Sentinel Class!*

• Rare: Cursed Star Sword 

• Rare: Solar Star Sword

• Classic versions of both Star Swords

• 8th Upholder Character Page Badge

• Infinite bragging rights

• Access to the exclusive Star Sword: Origins zone

Once you become an 8th Upholder, you can easily access these Items in your Book of Lore by clicking your 8th Upholder Badge icon in the Badges tab.

* The Sentinel Class will be available for ALL previous Upholders and Founders as our way of saying thanks for supporting us in the past!

How do I become an 8th Upholder?

All that we ask is that you help support AQW the game undergoes its exciting rebirth!

• When you Upgrade your AQW Membership starting this Friday at 6 PM and ANYTIME in the month of October, you will automatically become a legendary 8th Upholder.

• If you are ALREADY an upgraded Legend, and your Membership expires AFTER November 1st, 2016, then you are already an 8th Upholder. Congratulations!

• Check to see when your AQW Membership expires by logging in here.

Please note that only Upgraded Legend Memberships count toward 8th Upholder.

Want to know if you're already an Upholder?

That's easy! Just click the Manage Account link on the left under the ACCOUNT section. As soon as you sign in you'll see when your membership expires. Here's mine:

Cool! When Do I Get My Upholder Gear?

8th Upholder badges, Star Swords, and Sentinel Class will be awarded as you log in, starting September 30th! You will find your 8th Upholder Badge in your Book of Lore in the Other Badges tab.

Only Memberships Count?

Yes. You can use Artix Points on the Portal site or any method in AQW to upgrade, but it MUST be an AQW Membership. AdventureCoins DO NOT COUNT TOWARD 8th Upholder.

Thank you so much for helping us make AQWorlds! Without you, we couldn't make this game, or allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy it for free. We couldn't keep AQWorlds running without every single upgrade and AC that you buy. Nearly every penny you spend goes back into the game.

Though some people prefer buying AdventureCoins and others prefer upgrading, anyone who spends real money on this game deserves to get as much as we can give them, because without their support... there wouldn't BE an AQWorlds for everyone to play!

Mogloween returns Tonight

Getting a Head(less) Start on Halloween!

Starting this weekend... we are beginning our month of Halloween celebration a day early! 

Log in starting this Friday for candy, costumes, & craziness!  If you haven't joined us for this event before, Mogloween is the fall seasonal event where you Trick or BEAT your way through the spookiest, creepiest releases we've put out over the last eight years! 

New Side Story: Prelude to the Otherworld

This year, we'll have a NEW side story, "Prelude to the Otherworld," featuring Sora to Hoshi, Samba, Beleen, and a new Loremaster as they investigate a tale hinting at a legendary race of creatures and a mystical celebration... 

This side-story will introduce characters and lore for next year's Mogloween 2017 main event!

Spookiest Gear of the Year Returns Friday!

Find the Cauldron sisters, Bubble, Toil, and Trouble, when you /join mogloween and help them play their tricks to save Mogloween... and all the delicious treats that come with it! You'll also have a chance to unlock some of our most awesomely spooky (and most popular gear) of the year!

Post Server Rewrite Class Changes

Pisces and Arklen Talk About the Luck Enhancement

Greetings! With the server rewrite we have an amazing opportunity to look at how stats impact combat and fine tune them to create a healthier class system in game. 

As we've found over the years, Luck (and the Lucky enhancement) has been the go to stat for a majority of classes, even ones that we didn't plan for! Luck is so incredibly well rounded that we needed to reevaluate and modify its impact on combat. We've completely removed the Lucky enhancement and have plans to replace it with a more defensive oriented enhancement in the weeks to come. 

We have introduced two new defensive effects: Parry and Resist. They are a lot like dodge, except they only reduce a percentage of damage taken. Parry will reduce physical damage and Resist will reduce magical damage. Currently, just about all monsters do Physical damage but with the rewrite, we will more easily be able to add unique combat to monsters and will be adjusting certain monsters so that they do magical damage.

Strength and Intellect are still your main damage stats except now they also improve defenses.

Strength will increase the amount you Parry and Intellect will increase the amount you Resist.

Dexterity and Wisdom are also more well rounded now.  Dexterity will increase your chance to Parry and Wisdom will increase your change to Resist.  

Endurance now decreases all incoming damage alongside the health increase.  

Luck will continue to increase your hit, dodge and crit chance but not by quite as much.

Despite this nerf, we will be slowly buffing classes where Luck should be the main stat (Cardclasher, Evolved Leprechaun etc.).

Classes that are not melee oriented will not benefit form Strength and Dexterity and classes that are not spell oriented will not benefit from Intellect and Wisdom.

You can experience what I'm talking about on any of the PTR testing servers RIGHT NOW! Go do that, then report back and let me know what you think!

These changes are all very tentative and are just to give you a brief idea for what is planned for the future. We are already making changes to what is above so keep your eyes peeled for a more detailed update in the days/weeks to come.

Arklen is AQWorlds animator/programmer/class designer/many with many hats. He's been working with Yorumi and the Class balance team for many months now, and coded many of the 2015 releases. He's the head of the AdventureQuest Worlds Class Design group and loves getting your feedback. Tell him what you think about these changes and all things class-related here!

Server Rewrite Status

You guys were CRAZY helpful in the big final testing push a few weekends ago.... SO much that you found a bug we thought was fixed... wasn't completely fixed. The CPU usage problem (which is what HAD been causing the test servers to crash) was back once many of you tested again.

Yorumi spent the last 2 weeks working on that issue, and believes he's isolated it. Housing was disabled on the testing servers and, since he did that, they have not crashed... which leads him to believe housing is the cause of the problem.

If you have time, please help him out and pile onto the testing servers as much and as often as you can while you check out what I mean about the enhancement changes. If the servers STILL haven't crashed by Monday, then we'll assume that "housing causes the CPU issue to be confirmed."

For those of you just experiencing your first Achievement Tracker Update, you're probably wondering...

What IS the Achievement Tracker?

If you're just hearing about the Achievement Tracker, it is one of the ways we reward you for staying, playing, and supporting AdventureQuest Worlds!

• Time Played Badges track how old your account is (1 week, 1 year, 5 years, etc)
• Sagas Completed Badges track which of the main storyline sagas you've finished
• Loyalty Badges tracks the support our Legends and AC buyers have contributed

Some of these rewards may take a while to unlock, but don't worry... they will never leave, so you can keep battling towards your goal!

• 3 different achievement categories: Sagas completed, Time Played, Loyalty
• 51 badges and 200+ items
• 3 of the badges are NEW this year: 8 years played, 7 years upgraded, and 400,000 ACs
• 200+ permanent reward items for you to unlock, including the NEW gear below! 

And the best news: ALL of the progress you've ever made count towards the Achievement Tracker! 

How to unlock your rewards:

1. Once you see an achievement unlocked on your Tracker, head in-game
2. Open up your Book of Lore and go into the Achievements tab
3. Scroll through your badges until you find your new badge and its shop
4. Open the shop and get all the gear (0 ACs for free storage!)

A Note about Gravelyn's DoomFire Armor Series

The two sets featured above are part of a ShadowScythe set series designed by Tana Pyre, legendary AQWorlds artist, to honor the dark majesty that is Empress Gravelyn! The two variants above are only available in the Achievement Tracker.

Once you've finished the Throne of Darkness finale, you will unlock a quest for Tana's version of Gravelyn's 2014 set (base design by Diozz)... IF you meet all the requirements!

Because Gravelyn (and her Shadowscythe-themed gear) is so popular, we've got a number of different ways you can unlock the gear. 3 of the 5 sets will be permanently available, while the other two will go rare once their availability runs out.

There are five sets total in Gravelyn's DoomFire Armor series:

1. Gravelyn's DoomFire set: quest for the set unlocks after you complete the Throne of Darkness Saga
2. DoomFire Guard set: 7 Years membership achievement tracker reward

Achievement Tracker Rewards: The Whys and Whats

Over the last week or so, I've seen questions about why the DoomFire armor sets were chosen for these achievement trackers and frustration that the rewards are unattainable. I understand that frustration.

Though we all play in our online game world, we all live in the real world. We know most people would like to have more time, more energy, more money... more EVERYTHING. But since we don't, everyone needs to make careful choices about how they spend the time, money, and energy they do have.

It's why - when we were first building the tracker - we made sure that two of the three categories could be unlocked just by playing the game. It's also why we want to make sure that for you guys who have unlocked the achievements get some of our best, coolest, and most bonus-laden rewards.

A "reward" is, by definition, something that must be earned. It's given in return for service, merit, hardship, etc.

• For players who unlock the "Time Played" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for their dedication and stamina, for staying with our community.
• For players who unlock the "Sagas Completed" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for their skill and drive to complete the many in-game sagas.
• For players who unlock the "Loyalty" badges, the achievement tracker gear is a reward for having the desire and ability to financially support the development of the game.

Do we expect every player to unlock every badge? No. We know time, money, and energy are finite. But for those of you who DO unlock badges, we want to make sure that we have rewards you're likely to enjoy. (Side note: badges are created once we see that a number of people will have them in the next year.)

Achievement tracker gear is a bonus, an extra bit of "oomph" to make the act of reaching the goals even more awesome!

For those of you unlocking new achievements this year, I hope you enjoy your bonuses! For those of you who are SO CLOSE to beating that saga or reaching that anniversary, keep at it! For those of you who have helped allow us to continue updating each week, thank you for your support! 

Remember: none of the achievement tracker rewards go rare. If you can't get the thing you want today, it will still be here tomorrow, next month, and next year!

Forgzard fans, rejoice!

If you've been with our community for even a short time, there's a good chance you've encountered a Frogzard monster.  This iconic creature has been featured in nearly every AE game, from Adventure Quest to AQWorlds to its new incarnation in Adventure Quest 3D.

The frogzard will be available to unlock in our next release BioBeasts v1.5.3. His main attack will be a chomp attack with his massive jaws, while his Beast Power will unleash an epic roar that stuns surrounding bots, making them vulnerable to a super-powered bite.

8th Upholder Begins This Friday, September 30th!

Almost 8 years ago, AdventureQuest Worlds went live and players jumped at the chance to become the first Members of AQW. These lucky, early supporters of the game became the game's Founders. Every October after that, we hold the Upholder promotion - anyone upgrading their account during that period (or whose membership ends after November 1st of that year) becomes an Upholder... making them one of our most Legendary supporters. 

8th Upholder NORMALLY begins October 1st, 2016, but this year we are starting it on September 30th, because that's when the new October upgrade bonus goes live. 

If your membership ends on or AFTER November 1st, 2016, then you are ALREADY an automatic 8th Upholder. If you are NOT an Upholder and you don't want to take the chance on missing it, then GOOD NEWS! You can upgrade now with a 3, 6, or 12 month membership and instantly become an 8th Upholder. You'll automatically unlock all the Upholder perks on October 1st!

Cursed and Legion Naval Commanders

Calling all members of the Undead Legion!

Starting tonight, if you own the Cursed Naval Commander, you'd better start counting your Legion Tokens! Head to Dage's Underworld to find the Cursed Legion Naval Commander shop... stocked with all 26 items in the Cursed Legion Naval Commander set! 

The only way to get ANY of the Cursed Legion Naval Commander gear is by:

1. Buying the Cursed Naval Commander from Quibble's Shop
2. Being a member of the Undead Legion
3. Spending your hard-earned Legion Tokens to get the 0 AC gear 

Note 1: you must have the Cursed Naval Commander in your inventory to open the Cursed Legion Naval Commander shop.

Note 2: Once you have the Cursed Naval Commander armor, you will always be able to open the Cursed Legion Naval Commander shop... but the Cursed Naval Commander armor (and the rest of Quibble's gear) leaves the game on September 30th!

Note 3: The Cursed Naval Commander cannot be sold until October 1st.

This Weekend: Paladin vs the Undead

Undead + Paladin + Surprises = Battle Frenzy!

While YOU have been fighting the Throne of Darkness villains, the rest of Lore still battles all the other monsters roaming free. Starting tonight, the Order of Paladins needs you to bear witness as one recruit faces a horde of undead to prove that she is ready to (and worthy) to become a Paladin!

Heroes: return to the lands of Doomwood! /Join lightguard to begin the adventure as you help Darcy on her final trial before joining the ranks of the Paladins!

If you own the Cursed Naval Commander, you'd better start counting your Legion Tokens! Head to Dage's Underworld to find the Cursed Legion Naval Commander shop... stocked with all 26 items in the Cursed Legion Naval Commander set! 

The only way to get ANY of the Cursed Legion Naval Commander gear is by:

1. Buying the Cursed Naval Commander from Quibble's Shop
2. Being a member of the Undead Legion
3. Spending your hard-earned Legion Tokens to get the 0 AC gear

10. Use Legion Tokens to buy things from the Merge Shop

• Speak with Dage
• Click Shops
• Click Merge Shop
• Get epic loot!

Assuming you’ve made it this far, you can complete lots of other quests from Dage, gain access to Dage’s Soul Forge where MORE items can be crafted, and also be fully prepared for Dage’s brand new armor arriving Friday…

Monday Server Rewrite Update

Post-Weekend Testing Information

Thank you to EVERYONE who logged on over the weekend to help us test the new servers -- you guys did an AMAZING job finding and confirming issues! So... what happenes next?

1. We are reverting the right-side game servers back to the old system (so they will no longer be testing servers)
2. Yorumi is fixing what you've found with the help of our testers and whitehats
3. Right now, PVP is disabled on the testing servers as we try to isolate one of the bugs you helped shine a light on
4. Expect another big weekend test in the near future 

But why do we NEED more testing?

More testing is needed because you found more bugs! Or rather, this weekend's big test highlighted that an issue we thought was fixed... wasn't. Some bugs only reliably appear when the server is under heavy load (which means that a lot of players are on it). Other bugs only happen when a very specific combination of triggers happens at once.

We've simulated heavy load (thanks, whitehats!) and tried to find and reproduce all of those tricky "special circumstances" bugs, but that's a LOT easier when we have a lot of real, live players playing the game and testing.

Enhancement Fix

For those of you who DO bounce back and forth between the testing and regular servers, Yorumi has added in a work-around so that you won't see your character breaking when you switch between them.

If you buy a new enhancement on testing server 1 or 2, then go back to the regular, live servers, you'll see a level 1 adventurer enhancement temporarily equipped. (That prevents your character from breaking.)

Any enhancements you buy and equip on the old server will carry over to the testing servers without a problem.

Midnight Crown War: Vampirate Victory

The Vampirates won the Talk Like a Pirate Day War!

That's the GOOD news! The BAD news is that Flintfang and the Lycans are HOOOOOOOOOOOWLING with rage over the outcome... and refuse to accept defeat! This coming Friday, battle Flintfang and save Bonnie Blood! 

Flintfang's letter reads:

To the crew o' th' Bloody Bonnie,

We do not surrender. We do not admit defeat. Bonnie Blood will never wear the midnight crown! Yer Captain is with me... for now. But if'n ye want her back afore I stake her out in the sun...

Ye'll need to return here in one quarter of a moon cycle (that's one week, if'n th' hero asks). 

Ye'll soon learn who the REAL masters of th' Midnight Sea are!

Legend of Talk Like a Pirate Day

Ahoy, ye lubbers! Saturday be International Talk Like A Pirate Day and people from all over t' world be spendin' as much o' t' day as they can stand speakin' as piratey as they know how. Aye yes, and ye best be ready too, ‘cause we pirates don’t take too kindly to lilly livered landlubbers.

Choose a side in our newest pirate war!

T' celebration was originally created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol' Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap'n Slappy) whist playin' a game o' racquetball as such holidays often begin. For some reason or another (including the help o' a scurvy wordpirate-turned-columnist named Dave Barry), t' internet adopted t' very silly holiday and (wantin' t' celebrate as many silly holidays as possible)

AE followed suit addin' TLPD (or TLAPD for those o' you who just love your articles) t' our yearly roster o' holidays. It was such a wildly popular fan favorite that we've been keepin' t' spirit alive and doin' it every year.

If yer gonna look the look and walk the walk, that's all well and good, me hearty. But ye should also know how to TALK the TALK!

If'n ye aren't sure of yer nautical knowledge, fret not, sailor—ye be in luck, ‘cause me AQW Crewmate Beleen has a lil’ lessen for ye in the way o' the Pirate. Yaaaar!

There be Rules, Sailor: Pirate 101

Thee first thing ye need to know ‘bout becomin’ a pirate is ye gatta believe yer a pirate! If ye don’t truly believe ye be a Swashbuckler, then aint no one else ganna be bamboozled! Set ye deadlights on these steps:

1. Pirates don’t be good at speakin’. We be mutterin’ most o’ our words. Best get used to it, matey!
2. Ye gatta run ye words togeth’r. Ye gatta slur. Don’t be usin’ no proper sentences, either!
3. If ye still got both ye hands, use a motherload o’ gestures. Movin’ ye hands about when ye speak be key to a pirate’s life. It also be good fer protectin’ against Carpal Tunnel!
4. Pirates be loud ‘nd lusty ‘nd brash. Thee louder ye be, THEE SMART’R YE SOUND!!!
5. Never say “you” or “your” unless ye wishes to walk the plank. It be “ye” an’ “yer” in the Pirate’s life! Savvy?
6. Oh, ‘nd it be “me” and not no “I” or “mine”! Fer example, “that be me booty, ye no good two toothed thievin’ scallywag!”
7. Drop the “g” after words endin’ in “ing”. There be no need fer that “g” after many words, like goin’, and fightin’, and fishin’, and swimmin’!
8. Make up words if ye have to! We pirates don’t be mindin’ a wee bit o’ hornswaggling!
9. Pirates be superstitious folk. Never leave port without ye good luck charm, or there be mighty a dire consequence! Me never leaves me home base without me lucky pink skull pendant!

Swanky Pirate Lingo: Pirate 102

Below be a list o’ the best pirate-speak in all thee seven seas! Best practice these phrases, ‘nd ye then be ready fer Talk Like A Pirate Day on September 19!

• All hands on deck! – A cry that calls for immediate action.
• Ahoy! – A general greeting, meaning "Hello!"
• Arrr! – A pirate’s most commonly used word that has no solid definition.
• Avast! – A cry that generally means “Stop and give attention.” Can also mean "Whoa!” or "Check it out" or "No way!"
• Aye! - "Yes!"
• Belay - To immediately cease or stop.
• Booty - Anything of value that a pirate can plunder.
• Cat’o’Nine Tails – A whip made up of nine knotted ropes.
• Crow’s Nest – A lookout point at the top of the tallest mast on a ship.
• Cutlass – A curved sword, favored by many sailors.
• Davy Jones' Locker – Technically means the bottom of the sea. It is also where the souls of drowned pirates go. 
• Grog – A pirate’s beverage of choice. 
• Hoist the Colors! –To raise the Pirate flag before attacking.
• Hearties –Shipmates and friends.
• Hornswaggle—To cheat or to lie.
• Lad—A name for a young gentleman.
• Lass - A name for a young woman, usually more polite.
• Lubber or landlubber—A name give to those who prefer land over the sea.
• Motherload –A term for a very large amount of booty or treasure. 
• Salt or Old Salt—The name given to veteran Sailors. Also used to enhance the flavor of food.
• Savvy – Meaning to understand or “okay”.
• Smartly – To do or to perform something quickly.
• Scurvy –A common condition of sailors who go too long without eating fruits and vegetables.
• Shiver me timbers! –"Well, I'll be" or "What a surprise!" 
• Swag—The common term for riches and/or gold.
• Walk the plank – To be forced to walk the length of a plank that has been placed over the side of a ship. The outcome is not promising.

Server Rewrite Testing Weekend

Server Rewrite Update

Hi, guys! A lot of you have been waiting for a server rewrite update, but I've held off until today because we have been SO CLOSE. This afternoon, Yorumi is going to put the new server and client on the right-side servers for one final weekend of mega-testing!

Issues to watch out for

Yorumi is working on enabling the Enhancements on the LIVE test server. They work on our development test servers. He should have that up early next week. For now, please change enhancements on the left-side servers. (Twilly, Artix, Sir Ver, Galanoth, Yorumi, and Espada)

Your Reputations are displaying incorrectly. They are being recorded properly on the back-end, and you'll see them correctly on the left hand servers.

Wait, what's this all about? Server rewrite?!

We've made a lot of changes to AQWorlds over the couple years, and gained MANY new players! That's great, because it means there are tons of new heroes for you to quest with, battle with, and talk to... but also puts our servers under a great deal of strain. 

To make AQW the BEST game it can be, we need to take the time to FIX the current issues. So... how do we DO that? WE REBUILD AQW'S SERVERS!

For the two and a half, Yorumi (AQWorlds' lead programmer)** have been rewriting the AQW server* and we are now confident that the server is ready to release! That's why this weekend is the LAST weekend of testing as Yorumi works on the final display bug.*** 

Server rewrite progress:

So that we all have a clear idea of where the server rewrite progress is at, we'll use server rewrite version numbering (SRV) and phases.

Phase 1: Porting the existing game over to proprietary server software (that we built ourselves. This is what Oversoul currently runs on).

• SRV 0 - research begins
• SRV 0.01 - server architecture meeting with Zhoom
• SRV 0.02 - staff-only test of new combat system
• SRV 0.6 - full working Alpha stage
• SRV 0.8 - player live-test on PTR
• SRV 0.999 - Live test weekend
• SRV 1.0 - full launch of Server Rewrite, Phase 1

Why We Need the Server Rewrite

We have a good deal of control over the game, but the current version of AQWorlds uses server software whose base we did not build ourselves (though we created all of our server-based game functionality)... and that means there are some things we cannot change.

This is one of the main causes of the random bugs some of you are reporting. It's also one of the reasons some bugs (like desynced friends/guild lists) have not been fixed and why some features (like the better botting detection, all-new class skills, and finished Guild cities) have not been released.

With these changes, we can make AQWorlds better, faster, smoother, AND introduce new features that you guys have been requesting for a long, long time!

* the backend system that makes the game function, not what you log into each time you want to play the game.
** With the help of his assistant, M, for the last six months, and with the help of our servers testers since the project began
*** Display bugs are typically smaller, and usually easy to fix.

Next Up: Phase 2... Where all the FUN happens!

What I've been writing about above is Phase 1 of the server rewrite - porting the game over to the new servers. Phase 2 is where we're planning to make the changes you have all been asking for. 

Once Phase 1 is complete, we can start working Phase 2 functionality like:

• friends list syncing 
• bank item previews 
• better PVP and guilds functionality 
• adding rank 10 passives to new classes 
• cross-server/world chat 
• better anti-bot and reporting functionality and more. 

Testing Mission Sprocket

Those of you who have completed quests on the testing server may have noticed a new item dropping from ALL quests - the Testing Mission Sprocket! Save up 150 of these babies and you'll be able to turn them in for the 0 AC Sir Ver Bank Pet, a wicked-cool PTR testing reward!

Remember: as you find issues testing quests, killing monsters, and running around the game, please report them on the Bug Tracker!

How do I report PTR bugs?

PTR reports will be handled almost exactly the same now as reports have always been handled, so for those of you who know how, you can skip this section.  For those who don’t here’s a nice little walk through of reporting a bug.

First you need to get to the right place.

Start by clicking that link. This will open a new tab on your browser.  Go there.On that page, you will begin the very short process of making a bug report.

Choose AdventureQuest Worlds as the game being reported.

Then use the drop down menu to get to the right type of report. In this case, we want the AQW Server Rewrite. Click that and it will bring you to the report form.

8th Birthday Event Begins October 7th

Or should I say... The Throne of Darkness Finale Begins?!

If you've been keeping up with the Throne of Darkness Saga*, you know that we have ONE CHAPTER left! Artix and Memet are meeting next week to pin down the final details of the two-part finale that will release on... October 7th and 14th.

That's right, the Throne of Darkness finale will be this year's big birthday release, and MAN, I cannot wait until you all play the end! But that's a birthday surprise, and I don't want to spoil it for you.

This October is AdventureQuest Worlds' 8th birthday and Artix Entertainment's 14th anniversary! That is CRAZY, and I cannot believe how fast time has flown!

You can log in and play through the first release in the Celesetial Realm RIGHT NOW when you /join celestialrealm! The three Celestial Avatars of Time, Death, and Life are missing. A portal to the Infernal Realm (two realms to the left of the Underworld) has been opened by Chamat, the Queen of Monsters’ talented Lieutenant. Infernal creatures are flooding into the Celestial Realm, and Aranx needs YOUR help to drive the dark beasts out and discover where the Avatars have gone -- if his world falls… Lore will be next!

Hey... What About an Evolved LightCaster Class?!

We discussed this a great deal, and we DO want to make a class like this, but not until after the server rewrite. Once that is done, we'll be able to introduce new, VERY cool abilities -- and that's something a class like this SHOULD have. 

We MAY release an Evolved LightCaster armor this weekend. If we do, anyone who buys it will automatically unlock the Evolved LightCaster Class when/if it is created.
