HeroMart / HeroPoints Update

Earlier this month, we announced details about the Nulgath Nation bundle rewards for HeroMart, including the ability to buy HeroPoints with AdventureCoins and to get digital HeroPoints Gift Certificates. 

After seeing more feedback from players, we decided the conversion was not ideal when we already have the ability to sell variants of HeroMart's digital rewards in-game for ACs. BUT so far we've only done that for Calendar Classes.

We will begin doing this with more rewards for select products and bundles... starting with the individual Nulgath Nation Bundle items that many of you have asked for. 

• The color-customizable Nulgath's Fiend of Ozul set will be available exclusively with the Nulgath Nation bundle from HeroMart. 
• A non-color customizable variant will be available in-game for AdventureCoins and HeroPoints in a few months.  

Stryche and crew are still working on the ability to buy digital HeroPoints Gift Certificates through www.HeroMart.com -- we'll have more news for you on the amounts and packs once those are available!

Mysterious & Glorious Reward Gear

Fate is an enigmatic creature, even to the other Avatars. But with enough devotion and determination, it is written in the stars that you'll be able to unlock all of this weekend's bright and dark finale rewards from the /infernaldianoia map

Celestial Realm Saga Overview

Astral Alignment Rewards

A rare Great Planetary Alignment of 7 planets takes place tonight... and we're celebrating with new astral drops in /starfield and in Lezard Man's merge shop! 

Battle the Astral Spirit in the /starfield until March 14th to get the Astral Alignment Blades. Use them to craft the Astral Alignment GreatBlades. Plus, find the member-only Celestial Symbiote armor.

Tonight, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars will all line up in the night sky. This rare astronomical event will leave you starry-eyed... IF you're able to see it. But if you can't, you can still head in-game and find all our out-of-this-world gear commemorating the event! (h/t to ScienceAlert for the primer on planetary alignments.)

Tester & Moderator Teams Looking For New Members

Artix Entertainment is looking for a few epic, experienced players of AdventureQuest Worlds to help our Tester and Moderator teams. If you like helping people, love AdventureQuest Worlds, and think you'd make a good tester or moderator, read on!

Our moderators, testers, and bug hunters put in their time and effort to help the community and games... but we always stress that real-life obligations have to come first. That means we occasionally lose some team members to outside responsibilities... but we ALSO get to bring on MORE new team members!

How to Apply

We love when players ascend, and join the ranks of our community team! We offer challenges, very bad jokes, and some pretty sweet perks. Read on if you think you’re ready to apply.

Application Process

Step 1: Apply via this form by Friday, March 7th, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST.
Step 2: Applications reviewed by AE team leads and administrators.
Step 3: Emails sent to selected applicants with in invitation to "AdventureGuide Academy."
Step 4: Applicants meet team leads, learn about roles and reporting issues, and demonstrate skills.
Step 5: Applicants receive an invitation to either the tester or moderator team.

Important Information
- We are only looking for new game testers and moderators at this time.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply and participate.
- Make sure the email address provided is valid and can be accessed.
- All applications will be read and considered. If you are selected for consideration, we will email you.

AQW Team Member Roles

All three groups work to improve the game and community, but there are a few key differences.

Game Testers
- Play through and report issues with new updates and features before they go live.
- Try out classes in development and give feedback on skills / balance.
- Help the Bugs Team confirm issues and fixes on live servers.

Game Moderators
- Review and take action on reports of rule-breaking submitted in-game.
- Escalate severe violations to Player Support administrators.
- Help keep the game, community, and developers safe for everyone.

Bug Hunters
- Read, review, and confirm bug reports sent to Artix.com/bugs.
- Confirm issues and fixes on live servers for the developers.

Reminders and FAQs

1) How will you contact me if my application is accepted? 
By email. Please make sure you can access the email attached to your AQW game account.

2) How many hours do I need to help each week?
We ask that team members stay active on a regular basis, but there are no minimum time requirements. Helping AE should be a fun extracurricular activity, not something that adds additional stress. Real life obligations like school or work should always come first.

3) What do I get for helping?
Participation in the community team is not a paid position. Team members receive membership, secondary currency, and other sweet loot and gifts from Artix Entertainment.

4) What if I got banned or muted in the past?
We know people make mistakes, and grow and change over time. Those are all looked at on a case-by-case basis, but a ban or mute won't automatically disqualify you.

AQW Housing Spotlight: Total Transformation House by Sylveon

Meet our AQW x Akumi Architect, Sylveon

When it comes to player housing in AQWorlds, some heroes go above and beyond… and today’s spotlight is no exception! Meet Sylveon, fellow adventurer who has spent nearly 1.5 years and countless hours crafting one of the most meticulously designed homes we have seen! This isn’t some typical decorated map though; it’s a total transformation of the Akumi House, built with incredible attention to detail, layering, stacking, and creativity.

Here's the before:

“This house was created solo, starting with the ‘Underwater’ styled room after I saw the murals added in the Voice in the Depths saga of AQW,” says Sylveon. “When stacked on top of each other, they make for a nice, rocky cliff kind of design that completely changes the feel of the house.”

And that was only the beginning. Once Sylveon mastered this creative technique, she set out to redesign every room… each one with a completely different theme!

Starting with the Akumi Ship House, Sylveon painstakingly covered up nearly every part of the original house design 👀 An extremely difficult feat, to say the least!

“You either need very, very large items to do it or a bunch of small items that can cleanly mesh together to create a convincing background,” Sylveon explains. “The hardest room to do was definitely my Fantasy Forest room, because even today, we don’t have enough wall items in the style I want to completely cover up the top half of the screen.”

And yet… Sylveon found a way. Many ways, in fact! So let’s take a tour of the incredible rooms inside this one-of-a-kind home!

Room 1: The Underwater Room

Items Used: 174
Theme: An eerie, sunken ocean landscape
Inspiration: Voice in the Depths saga

This was the first scene built and set the foundation for the entire house. By layering the underwater murals just right, Sylveon created the illusion of a rocky ocean cliffside, making the house feel entirely different from its original form.

But the real flex? The tiny pile of bones beneath the leftmost blue mushroom.

“Each bone is a 1% drop, and there are 13 of them in that tiny pile,” Sylveon reveals. “That was probably the most time-consuming decoration to obtain.” 😱

Room 2: The Darkon Saga Room

Items Used: 30
Theme: A minimalist, haunting Darkon-inspired space
Inspiration: Darkon Saga

A stark contrast to the underwater room, this area embraces an ominous aesthetic, using just 30 well-placed items to maximize atmosphere (and, as we all know, atmosphere is ~very~ hard to come by in outer space, which is where the Akumi Ship House is stationed).

The Darkon room may feature fewer items, but sometimes less is more – and Sylveon totally nailed it! Every choice here was intentional, making this a perfectly balanced and eerie tribute to Darkon and his insane Saga.

Room 3: The Sea Lab Room

Items Used: 43 
Theme: A high-tech aquatic research station
Inspiration: Sci-fi deep-sea exploration

This futuristic lab has a secret detail you might not notice at first…

“The reason for my nameplate being visible in this room is because I wasn’t happy with any position of the leftmost hanging blue light,” Sylveon states.

“So to deal with it, I used my nameplate as the attachment point, and it looks more natural.”

Well this certainly shows a true designer's talent: using GUI in unexpected ways to enhance the overall ambience of the room!

Room 4: The Fantasy Forest Room

Items Used: 118
Theme: A whimsical, magical forest
Inspiration: Enchanted nature

Sylveon saved the best for last – and reveals it was the most difficult room to complete, too! This lush, vibrant space features layered clouds, glowing mushrooms, and dense greenery, but covering up the original house design was a major challenge.

“With the limited cloud quantity that exists at the moment, this was the densest cloud coverage I was able to do,” Sylveon shares. “I think it turned out pretty good for the limited resources I had.”

And tucked away in this enchanted forest is a hidden surprise:

the smallest house item in the ~entire~ game!

“If you look super closely under the chest, there’s a tiny bird—placing it was a nightmare because the editor buttons actually cover it up. So I had to blindly guess and check until it was in a position I was happy with.”

Talk about totally winging it! With patience, precision, and an eagle’s eye for detail, Sylveon managed to nest the tiniest item in AQW history – truly a tweet-worthy triumph! 🕊️

A Masterpiece in Home Makeovers

Sylveon’s house is an impressive home transformation that just goes to show how AMAZING ourcommunity is! With a mix of patience, creativity, and insane attention to detail, Sylveon turned a standard house into an immersive, multi-themed experience.

Hogs & Kisses & Sweet Treats

New Midweek Update is Now Available

All's fair in love, war, and... breakfast?! The pups in Chateau's Dog Park will be beggin' for the new NPC hammin' it up in this week's new midweek update. Talk to Big Daddy's Cupig in the /Chateau map now and complete his "Out of Love" quest to choose either a new 0 AC seasonal pet or house item! The quest and rewards leave March 7, 2025.

This deliciously-adorable little emissary from Big Daddy is a little friendly, a little goofy, and based off one of the most "heart-unhealthy" PORK-manteaus on the internet. 

And if you love consuming all of the "behind the scenes" details that go into these midweek updates, here's more trivia to chew on from the design team:

This new expansion quest is meant to be primarily on the silly side. With the way Cupig talks, he’s supposed to act a bit childlike, friendly, and goofy. So, he’s going to speak very differently compared to all of the other NPCs in this map.

I chose /Chateau for a few reasons. It feels pretty lively with NPCs. Also, because of the structuring of the quests. The quests require you to talk to a bunch of NPCs in the map (and this new quest will require the same mobs that 2 of the quests require). Thirdly, I chose this map because one of the rooms has a sign that says "Dog Park." So, I thought it would be funny to put a pig NPC in it.

The quest name is most of the title of a song, which is "All Out of Love" by Air Supply. I was originally going to call the quest "Cupig’s Crazy Catastrophe," but the name didn’t fit well with the quest description. I also make another reference to the song in the quest description. I was going to try to add more references to the song, but I don’t want to get too carried away with that since we’ve been having (REDACTED FOR SPOILERS - Alina)

Wait. What is Heroes Heart Day?

Heroes Heart Day is an event that originated in DragonFable but is celebrated in many Artix games, including AQW. Heroes Heart Day (HHD) takes place around Valentine's Day each year where players get to participate in love-themed quests, equip special items, and explore heart-filled events. HHD is a time for players to show love and affection to their in-game friends, romantic partners, and to themselves as well! 

Now Available: 2024 Honorable Hero Badge

The Honorable Hero Award is a special character page badge recongizing heroes who did not get muted or banned during the previous year. It serves as an incentive for everyone to help us keep AdventureQuest Worlds a positive, fun, and family-friendly game! 

What's an honorable hero, you ask? Good question! They are what true in-game heroes and role models are, and we want to reward them for a year's worth of good behavior... with 500 FREE AdventureCoins and a character page badge! 

We just gave out the 2024 Honorable Hero reward to all accounts meeting the following requirements:

• Logged in between January 1st, 2024 and December 31st, 2024
• Did not receive a 24 hour or longer in-game mute or ban in 2024
• Level 11 or higher as of January 24, 2025

Journey from Lone Wanderer to Guild Leader

AQW Housing Spotlight: Shadowfall Fortress by Garkoks Dran

A Home Fit for an Undead Overlord... with a Hoarding Problem

For 14 years, Garkoks Dran has been perfecting the ultimate lair – one that blends the eerie majesty of Shadowfall with the undeniable reality of a hero’s hoarding tendencies. This ever-evolving stronghold on the Artix Server has been built, rebuilt, and rebuilt again, proving that persistence… and maybe a touch of necromantic magic… truly pays off.

A Gift from Gravelyn… With Unexpected Consequences

The premise of Shadowfall Fortress is simple: after years of unwavering service to the forces of darkness, Gravelyn extended an invitation for Garkoks Dran to take up residence within Shadowfall. Oh wow, what an honor! However, no one—not even the Empress of the Shadowscythe herself—could have predicted just how much stuff one hero could amass.

Treasures? Check. Legendary artifacts? Check. Trophies from conquests across Lore? Check. An army of pets, ancient forbidden technologies, and enough furniture to clutter every possible space? Check, check, and check!

And yet, despite the fortress’s impressive gothic grandeur, there is one glaring oversight…

…

a single shower.

Just one shower?! For an entire undead stronghold!?! Oh the horrors – and the stench! 😱

The Trials of an Unyielding Architect

Building and maintaining a lair of this magnitude is no easy feat. Over the years, Garkoks Dran has painstakingly placed down hundreds of items, only to have to replace them again due to glitches, bugs, and the occasional unexpected house guest who just wouldn’t leave. Friends Only Plague, anyone?

Some of the rarest pieces have been collected using IODAs, with one elusive prize still missing: the Chairman Platinum statue. Even with a fortress this massive, house space is always an issue, as every new addition pushes the limits of what Shadowfall can hold.

And let’s not forget the mysterious floor-eating glitch in the Garden2 room, where items sometimes seem to vanish into the abyss. Here’s hoping that issue gets fixed before another precious relic disappears forever! 😳

Visit the Fortress… If You Dare

Garkoks Dran’s Shadowfall Fortress is a must-see for any player housing enthusiast or aspiring dark overlord. Whether you come for the eerie ambiance, the jaw-dropping decor, the floor-eating mysteries, the insane amount of gold,

or just to witness the sheer magnitude of loot-hoarding in action, this legendary lair is a testament to dedication, creativity, and an undying love for undead aesthetics.

LoreBowl Shop Update

In the past, the different team armors for LoreBowl always returned when their respective teams played in the real-world event. But some teams haven't gotten a chance to play in over a decade... and that means the in-game homage items also haven't returned. That's why we decided to make all of the LoreBowl items available every year from the Shop in /punt. 

The items weren't ever intended to be rare; that's why they had the "Event Rare" tag: they were exclusive to the LoreBowl event, but weren't permanently rare. That can be a confusing distinction when some items haven't been available in 10+ years... or when some players redeemed an Item of Donated Awesomeness to get gear they assumed would never return.

To help prevent further confusion, here's what we're doing:

• All items in the LoreBowl Shop now have the Seasonal rarity tag instead of the Event Rare tag.
• If you redeemed an IoDA for one of the LoreBowl items, later today we'll be giving your IoDA back.

This way, everyone can grab their favorite team gear and /cheer for their favorite teams all year 'round... and no one feels like they've wasted an IoDA. Win-Win all the way around. /cheer

The map + gear shop will be available until Friday, February 28th.
